Terry: With no Okumbi, his assistants will hold steady

With the confirmation that Kenya U20 Head Coach Stanley Okumbi will not be making it to Egypt to take charge of the team for a second round first leg African youth Championship tie on Sunday 29 July 2012, his two assistants will now take charge.

Left behind

Okumbi was left behind when the Kenya U20 jetted out on Wednesday 25 July.

By being head Coach of Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United, Okumbi had to be in charge for a league game against Western Stima on Saturday 28 July, a tie his team won 0-1.

He altogether failed to fly out to join the Kenya U20 team in Cairo in the evening of Saturday 28 as planned.

Dedicate

-It is sad that he (Okumbi) cannot be here. His two assistants George Ondula and Yahya Hassan will be in charge of the team, said head of delegation Hussein Terry in a one on one with futaa.com from Cairo, Egypt

-  Even in his absence, the boys have promised to come up with a good result, one that they can dedicate to the missing Coach, he added

Kenya U20 will face off with their Egyptian counterparts from 2300hrs on Sunday.
