Ten-man Tusker beat KCB to oust AFC from the top

Tusker KCB
A 2-0 win over KCB saw Tusker FC ascend to the top of the Tusker Premier League table.

This was in their match played on Monday 17 September at the City Stadium.

Tusker were reduced to ten men after Patrick Kagogo was handed a red-card in the 48th minute, for a dangerous tackle on Bethwel Warambo.

In the 53rd minute, to counter the effect of losing a man, Tusker's head Coach Robert Matano made a tripple substitution, bringing in Kenneth Wendo, Obadiah Ndege and Fred Ojwang for Dennis Mukaisi, Joshua Oyoo and Joseph Emeka respectively.

Goals

Three minutes later, Jockins Atudo sent in a long pass from the right, which Wendo picked before sending it to Obadiah Ndege, who wasted no time releasing it into the net.

In the 63rd minute, Atudo stepped up to take an awarded free-kick from over 35 yards out.

He sent it low to surprise keeper Caleb Adola who tapped it and then stood to watch it get into the net behind him.

After the win, Tusker, with the same 45 points as AFC Leopards sit at the top of the standings, thanks to a superior goal difference.
