Ten man Shabana get one very late

Hosts Shabana FC had to play for over 70 minutes a man less but managed to grab a 1-1 draw against Rush FC in a Division One Zone B tie played at the Gusii Stadium on Saturday 29 April 2012.

The tie that kicked off at 1500hrs saw Shabana’s keeper Dennis Ayuka handed a straight red on 19 minutes when he rushed to bring down Rush FC’s striker when clear on goal.

From the resultant awarded penalty, Daniel Ochieng scored to make it 0-1 for the visitors.

Shabana then struggled for the rest of the half but came back a composed side in the second half.

Denied a win at the death

It was virtually the final strike of the game that gave Shabana something to smile about.

From a freekick, Joash Ogega Ongori got a touch on the ball that went all the way in for Shabana to end the game level at 1-1.

Denied a win at the death, Rush is now ninth in the 20-team Division One Zone B log with 17 points after playing11 games. Shabana is seventh with a point more.
