Former Mathare United and Sofapaka coach Salim Ali has attracted interest from a number of clubs since parting ways with the former Tusker Premier League (TPL) champions after a series of unimpressive results.
Approached
Salim, speaking to futaa.com, said he has so far been approached by two teams, one a top Kenyan side and another a Tanzanian but admitted he is taking some time off to work on other projects with the hope of resuming coaching at the start of 2013.
-I have been busy with some projects here and there but offers have been coming nonetheless – the most serious of them being from two good sides; a Kenyan and a Tanzanian but at the moment I am not looking to make a return to coaching.
Good prospects
-Prospects look good and hopefully at the start of next year I will be back in management, it is the nature of our job but all is fine, he said.
Salim is a former national team assistant coach and was a member of the title winning Mathare United side in 2008. He’s just returned from South Africa where he was lecturing in a coaching instructions’ course.
