Talent hubs share spoils

Fisa
Nairobi Provincial League side FISA FC played to a barren draw with Pumwani United in a friendly match played at the Police Band Grounds in South B, Nairobi, on Friday 19 October 2012.

Impressed

FISA Head Coach Charles Korea Omondi praised the opponents saying they gave them a good match.

-Pumwani really impressed me today. The team is comprised of young players but have good technique and ball skills. They gave us a good match, Omodi told futaa.com.

-If this is the kind of football that they will play next season then I’m sure they will survive in the Provincial League, he added.

Pumwani Head Coach Owen Cassidy was in high spirits after the match saying his players impressed him.

-I gave a chance to some trialists in this match and they impressed me. The whole team also played well and I must thank FISA for hosting us and giving us a good match, Cassidy said.

Talent

FISA has been a leading feeder to top-tier clubs. Paul Were, Kevin Omondi, Ibrahim Kitawi and Victor Ashinga are some of the players on loan to TPL clubs from FISA while Mathare United’s Andrew Tololwa and Rangers’ Tyrone Omondi passed through Pumwani United ranks.

FISA finished fifth in the NPL while Pumwani topped the Nairobi County League Zone A and will play in the NPL next season.
