Suba Lakers pip hosts to SEP trophy in Oyugis

 Suba Lakers Girls Football Club are the new Society Empowerment Project (SEP) trophy.

The mfangano based team hit host SEP by a solitary goal in the finals of the tournament held at Kotieno Primary School in Oyugis over the weekend of August 12-14th.  Pauline Otieno scored the lone goal for Suba Lakers in the tenth minute of the first half.

To make the finals, SEP had defeated ISDAK Kisumu on post-match penalty kicks while in the other semi Suba Lakers saw off Angaza from Thika with a resounding 3-0 win.

Sharon Bismark scored a brace while team mate Dorothy Adhiambo added a third to send their team that topped its pool in the preliminaries to the finals.

The win was a morale booster for Suba Lakers who have confirmed participation in the Kisumu Youth Football Association (KYFA) Nationwide Ladies Tournament in the coming weekend. 

Suba Lakers will have two teams at the tournament to the held at the Kisumu Polytechnic : an U15 squad and a senior team.
