Strathmore promoted

Stathmore University, who were playing in Nairobi County League’s zone, have been promoted to the Nairobi Provincial League.

Strathmore, had been relegated from the Division One league at the end of last season. An unfortunate turn of events so them fail to register for the 2012 Provincial League season, which forced them to move to the fourth tier. 

Ascension

Of their promotion, the club’s head Coach Mickey Weche says he is happy that his side is finally on its way to the top-flight.

-We started the year on the wrong footing, missing out on the registration dates for the provincial league, Weche told Futaa.com.  

-However, we are now back to senior football and I must say I am impressed with the effort my charges put throughout the season.

-I also must thank the institution [Strathmore University] for according us the necessary support, as we would not have made it without their contribution.

Coach

Weche is a former AFC Leopards player, having starred as a defender for the club in gone years.
