As Western Stima gear up for the Sunday 28 October clash with Rangers FC at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, they are planning without defender David Otieno in mind but coach Henry Omino is not so bothered.
Suspended
Otieno is suspended for the clash after receiving his fifth booking of the season in the game against Thika United on Sunday 21 October and Omino says with the recent flourishing partnership established by Robert Kwaye and captain George Wesa in central defence, there is little to worry about.
Wesa missed the trip to Thika on a compassionate leave and Omino, speaking to futaa.com, termed his return timely though he admitted Otieno too will be missed.
Have to adjust
-We will definitely miss David in the game – he is one of our key performers and for him to be out is a bit of a blow but there is so little we can do about it; suspensions are part of this game and this means I have to adjust some things.
-The situation is softened by the return of Wesa who has recently established a great partnership with Kwaye in the heart of the defence and I am looking forward to the two steering the team to a clean sheet and, if possible, a win, he said.
The Westerners are winless in their last two matches and with a top five ambition key to Omino’s season, he will be looking to get a first win in three from the encounter.
