The five-Nation Green Soccer Bowl that was scheduled for this coming weekend at the Silverdome has now been called off.

A statement from the organizers simply states "We’ve canceled,” said Pius Oleh, the man who created the event. “All the teams didn’t get a visa."

International teams initially were scheduled to meet over the weekend of Feb. 12; then the matches were switched to May 21-23 with teams from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Malaysia and Puerto Rico participating

Downsized

Then the event was downsized to a one-day event. Four area youth soccer teams were supposed to play exhibition games, followed by Kenya vs. Malaysia at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The cancellation means that Kenya will now concentrate on another Kenya team that will be playing on the 23rd May in Uganda in the first round of CHAN.

Midfielders; Noah Abich (Tusker), Kevin Omondi (Gor Mahia), Joshua Abdul (Coast United), Chrispin Olando (Thika United), Edward Kauka (Posta Rangers), Robert Mambo (GIF Sundsvall, Sweden), Dennis Odhiambo (Pretoria University, South Africa) & Lawrence Olum (Austin Aztex, USA)

Strikers: Dennis Oliech (Auxerre, France), Allan Wanga (FK Baku, Azerbaijan) & Patrick Oboya (Banik Most, Czechia)
