Kenya’s team to the 2012 edition of the Special Olympics was drawn in a tricky group as the event kicked off earlier Thursday morning in South Africa.
The Kenyan team will have to face both Tanzanian and Mauritius who form the other members of Group B as their key to the semis of the three days tournament.
Tough group
Group A which is also the group of death has four teams namely Ivory Coast, Uganda, Botswana and hosts South Africa.
Group C just like Kenya’s has three teams. It is not however an easy one as Senegal will battle it out with Nigerian and Namibia for a single place into the semis.
Two teams from the larger group A will however proceed to the semis together from the top team in other two groups.
The team arrived in South Africa on Wednesday 3 October 2012.
