Sofapaka trample on Thika in their own backyard

Sofapaka FC handed Thika United a humiliating 1-4 defeat, in a match hosted by Thika at their Thika Municipal Stadium.

In the match, Kenyan Premier League’s top-scorer John Baraza opened the scores in the 13th minute, converting an awarded penalty , after Vincent Nyaberi handled the ball in the box.

Ten minutes later, Mugalia received a clean pass from Baraza, which he wasted no time driving into Thika’s net, to double the lead.

In the 32nd minute, Edgar Ochieng headed in an in-swinging free-kick, to leave the half-time scores at 0-3.

Second half

Into the second half, in the 63rd minute, Baraza picked the ball on the right flank, before outrunning Thika’s defenders to slot in an easy one past keeper Lucas Indeche.

In the 85th minute, Moses Arita identified a well-floated in corner, which he headed in to award his side a consolation

After the match, Sofapaka have moved from fifth to third in the Kenya Premier League standings, switching places with Thika.
