Western Stima shocked 2009 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Champions Sofapaka 2-1 in a Tusker Premier League tie played on Friday 21 September 2012 at the City Stadium in Nairobi.
Speaking after the match, Sofapaka Head Coach Stewart Hall expressed his dissapointment with the teams performance saying they (players) gave away the match.
Reaction
-We gave away two soft goals and I’m generally very disappointed with the performance, especially the second half, Hall said during the post match interview with broadcasters Super Sport International
-We were okay in the midfield but very sloppy in the back and sluggish upfront today, he added.
This was Sofapaka’s second straight loss since the Englishman, a former Azam FC Coach in Tanzania, joined the team recently
- The players have to take responsibility. This is the first time I’ve lost two consecutive matches as a coach since 2005, Hall said.
After the result, Sofapaka is now fifth in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) log with 40 points while Western Stima is seventh with 36 points. Both have played 25 games.
