Sofapaka have beaten Tunisian side Club Africain 3-1 in the African confederations cup third round second leg match played at the Nyayo national stadium in Nairobi on Sunday 12th June 2011.
Chad midfielder Ezekiel Ndouassel gave the visitors the lead in the 21st minute, beating Sofapaka goalkeeper George Opiyo from close range.
Congolese defender Dodo Kayombo equalized for the home side three minutes from half time after a great run in the opponents half. John Baraza headed in the second in the 74th minute with John Onami completing the scoring seven minutes from time.
The win was not enough for Sofapaka to proceed to the group stages of the competition as they lose 4-3 on aggregate after going down 3-0 in Tunis in the first leg a fortnight ago.
Great run
The defeat to Africain drew the curtains on what was a great run in the competition by batoto ba mungu who gave themselves and the country a much needed reprieve from continuous continental failure.
The 4-0 win over Egyptian club Ismailia will remain among the greatest club matches witnessed in the countrys recent footballing history.
For their trouble, Africain proceed to the money spinning group stages of the confederations cup.
