Sofapaka left back Abdulatif Achkobe Omar has made an undertaking not to extend his stay at the club once his contract comes to a close at the end of the year.
Troubled times
The defender has had troubled times at the club after a fine start that was abruptly stopped by a horrific knee injury that required surgery twice and he says he is ready to move on for a fresh challenge after failing to feature competitively for over a year.
The defender is now fully healed and his only show this season was an appearance on the bench in the second leg match against AFC Leopards which Sofapaka ended losers (0 – 1) and speaking to futaa.com, he said he already has some offers but is yet to decide on the right move.
Right time
-I think it is the right time for me to move on; I have been with Sofapaka for some time now though things have not been so good for me due to the injury but the short time I got to play I enjoyed myself to the fullest.
-I have no bad blood with anyone but I just feel when my contract ends in December I won’t renew. I already have offers that are both interesting and offer a new challenge but I will wait till my contract ends then look at the best bet.
-I wish Sofapaka all the best, he said.
Before getting injured the former Thika United defender had cemented a place in both Sofapaka and the national team Harambee Stars.
