Sofa admits title defeat, shifts focus to FKF Cup

Sofapaka

Sofapaka Team Manager Jacques Roberto has publicly made a realistic assessment of his team, admitting that Batoto Ba Mungu cannot win the title this season.

The slide in form has had a marked effect on Sofapaka’s title ambitions as they have dropped down to the sixth place on the Tusker Premier League table after failing to win seven of their last league matches.

Continental Competition

However, according to Roberto, it’s not in their nature to give up on the continental ticket as they’ve now shifted focus to the FKF/President’s Cup semi-final duel against Tusker on Saturday 13 October, at MISC, Kasarani.

-It’s true we cannot win the league, but we also have to set ourselves a realistic target; to lift the FKF Cup.

-The league race is almost over and for us to go back to the continental scene, we must reclaim the Domestic Cup.

-Preparations for the weekend match have hit top gear and our aim is to feature in the continental competition, said Roberto to futaa.com.

Sofapaka, who are currently placed sixth on the log, last won the Domestic Cup in 2010 but lost by a solitary goal to Gor Mahia in the 2011 final.
