Football Kenya Federation Vice Chairman Sammy Sholei has questioned the manner in which immediate former Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi and Patrick Naggi were appointed as Technical Director and Education Officer respectively.
In a press statement, Sholei has bashed the appointment as unprocedural, unprofessional and ill motivated since it was done without consultation across board.
Overruled
- I want to reiterate here that until proper and independent procedures of appointments are done, all the appointments the federation has since done are all null and void, read the statement in part.
-The positions therefore should be rendered vacant to pave way for a professional and competitive recruitment if we want to flourish in football administration in this country.
The VC has lamented that days after the Technical Director and the CEO’s positions were advertised with an agreement to hire a private HR firm to vet the CVs, nothing had been forthcoming leaving space for manipulation of the same within the federation.
Loopholes
- There are no systems put in place that secures the CVs received from applicants therefore leaving a highway of riddance of the competitive aspirants for the advertised positions.
- I as a Vice Chairman Football Kenya Federation and the Secretary General Omondi Aduda we were not consulted on the two appointments that were done at a Nairobi Hotel by a few members of NEC.
-I hereby reject the appointments of the two officers and demand for the rightful, professional and transparent procedure of hiring all the Federation Staff if really we want to get our football to the wished levels, read the statement in conclusion.
Sholei has vowed to keep pushing for reforms from within to ensure that the federation runs its affairs in a transparent and professional manner.
