Shedu bemused at ‘importing’ referee

Rishadi Shedu

FKF Division One Zone A league leaders Bandari FC played to a barren draw with Thika based Bidco United FC in the encounter at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.

The home team’s coach Rishadi Shedu says he was satisfied with the level of officiating but just concerned at why a referee had to be brought in from the capital yet there are qualified officials in the area.

No point

-The officiating was good and the output by both sets of players was also of a high standards but I don’t think there was any point in bringing a referee from Nairobi to handle the game.

-Our previous matches here have been handled by referees from around; importing one creates bad blood because today it looked like Bidco had come along with their referee. Such issues do not augur well with fans and fellow opponents here, he told futaa.com.

FIFA referee Thomas Onyango from Nairobi was the man at the centre in the game.
