Gor Mahia’s Ugandan born striker Dani Sserunkuma confirmed to futaa.com his undying desire to switch nationalities to Kenya, a move that could make him available for selection to Harambee Stars, the Kenyan national team.
Great bonus
His wish has been backed by his club official Faiz Ochieng, who says the switch, if materialises, will be a great bonus to the country since as he puts it, the national team misses players of his quality upfront.
Sserunkuma has forged a lethal partnership with Gor Mahia’s Rama Salim since joining in the mid season from Nairobi City Stars and Faiz believes the two can carry the club form to the national team with devastating effect to opponents and added that as a club, they will always be in favour of such a move.
Natural finisher
-I hope it materialises; Harambee Stars miss players like him – a natural finisher who is also good on the ball, and we all saw in the South Africa game how badly we need finishers in the team. If it comes to fruition he will form a deadly combination with Rama upfront and with Oliech also in the team we will kiss our attacking woes bye.
-He is a player who can add good pressure on opposing defenders and as a club I don’t see why we should not support such a move. Since it is his wish he has our full backing – we love Dan and want all the best for him. We believe this move will be good for him, Faiz told futaa.com.
