Oserian FC’s technical director Mr. Gilbert Selebwa, one of the established coaches in Kenya has lauded Sofapaka striker John Wamalwa Baraza as one player who will always stand out among the greatest forwards in the country.

Gunning for third accolade

The veteran striker, who has scored 17 goals already this season in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) is on course for his third top scorer’s accolade with Sofapaka and Selebwa admits the player is a gem in a field where his contemporaries have badly flopped.

The player’s precision when in the 18-yard area, his consistency over the years and the ease with which he scores leaves Selebwa in awe.

-Baraza is one of a kind; a king among the current crop because scoring has been a countrywide problem in this league. His consistency over the years and the way he doesn’t struggle places him at the top.

Baraza recently helped Sofapaka thrash Tanzanian champions Simba SC 3 – 0 in a friendly match played at the national Stadium in Dar es Salaam. He scored a brace in the encounter.
