On Saturday 18 August, reports on a cross section of the Kenyan media suggested that Gilbert Selebwa had parted ways with Oserian FC, the club for which he was serving as the technical director.
The reports were strengthened by the appointment as coach of former Kenyan international and Tusker coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo but Selebwa, a former AFC Leopards coach has cleared the air, saying he never left the bottom placed side.
Speaking to futaa.com, Selebwa also confirmed that Pamzo’s appointment had nothing to do with his situation as he was hired to seal the vacuum left by Sammy Otinga, the tactician who resigned in June after seven years at the club.
Fill in Otinga’s position
-I have never left Oserian in the first place and I am surprised at the reports in the media. I am still the Oserian technical director and the recent arrival of Sammy Omollo had nothing to do with my post as TD.
-Pamzo came in to fill the position left vacant by Sammy Otinga when he left, Selebwa said.
