Everyone expected that Sofapaka would seal the transfer of SoNy Sugar’s talented youngster Enock Agwanda before the start of the current season only for the deal to crumble towards the final days of the transfer period.
No option
The development left both parties with no option but to let go with Agwanda, who had shown his desire to sign for Sofapaka, returning to Awendo as he still had a valid contract with the South Nyanza side.
Sofapaka coach Salim Ali, in an interview with futaa.com, said the club could consider making a move for the forward if he is available at the end of the current season. Salim, however, said that will depend on the situation with the player’s contract.
Have to wait
-We have to wait for his contract with the side to run out, Salim said.
-If he is available at the end of the year we can consider making a request because he is a good player and we earlier showed that we wanted him. I am however, unsure if he has extended his contract or not, he said.
Salim’s hope may, however, fail to come to fruition considering SoNy refused to listen to any offers for the player the last time, claiming the striker was part of their long term strategy.
