Safaricom’s
Sakata Ball, a nationwide U23 tournament is now set for its final region – Nairobi.
The tournament that kicked off in Eastern Region in early February has since gone to Central, North Eastern, Rift Valley, Western and Nyanza. In the past weekend completed the centre and zonal games in Coast Regional.
Beginning
Saturday June 25, the tournament will kick off in Nairobi’s four of eight zones; Dagoretti, Langata,
Westlands and Makadara.

Kinyanjui
Technical and Ngong Posta grounds will be used for Dagoretti Zone where 24
boys’ teams and another six girl’s teams have confirmed participation.
Kihumbuini
Stadium in Kangemi and Kabete Technical – Uthiru will host the 20 boys teams
and seven girls teams that have confirmed participation for Westlands Zone while
the games for Langata where 34 boys
teams and ten girls teams will be taking part, action will be at Woodley
Stadium, Harlequins grounds and Rakel Primary in Ongata Rongai.
Coast Regional
Hamza Stadium, Makongeni Railways and Police band will be centre stage for the 20 boys and seven girls teams registered under Makadara.
At the close of the weekend, four boys teams and two girls teams will proceed to the next level – the Nairobi regional’s set for the 16, 17th July in a yet to be confirmed venue.
The tournament will grace another four zones; Starehe, Huruma, Kamukunji and Embakasi on the weekend of 8, 9 July. In between the two weekends, the Coast Regional finals will take place at the Mbaraki grounds where one of the eight qualified boy’s teams and a girl’s team will qualify for the National edition to be played on 20,21st August 2011 [moved from 6, 7 August].
