SAFC Keroche to drop uncooperative players

Paul Karanja Kimani

Sunderland AFC Keroche, the team that plays in the Naivasha/Gilgil District league is looking to sign a number of players during the ongoing mid-season break.

According to the club’s Team Manager Paul Karanja Kimani, the team is in dire need of reinforcement in defense and striking and these are the two positions they will be looking to fill.

-We played very well for most of the first leg, but in some matches, our finishing and defending let us down, Kimani told Futaa.com.

-We know very well that in matches, creating chances, does not count as much as goals do. We lack a strong finisher and our defense has at times been porous costing us wins.

Dropping

Kimani also hinted at the team releasing some players on discipline-related issues.

-We have a clique of players who are developing big-headedness liked to the belief that they are now superstars.

-These players do not show up for training and when they do, they want to impose their unfounded ideas on the rest of the team, sometimes outrightly disregarding the team’s philosophy.

-We cannot have such players amongst us and in a few days, we shall have them explain their conduct in front of the club’s board, after which we can decide on whose cases are weak and drop them.

Performance

Sunderland were ranked fourth in the league’s standings as the first leg was coming to a close.
