Rooney hails Kagawa

Manchester United and England forward Wayne Rooney hails United’s new signing Shinji Kagawa.

The Japan international joined the side from Dortmund at the start of the transfer window and has featured majorly in the club’s pre-season encounters, nicking his debut goal against Shanghai Shenhua.

Assimilation

According to goal.com, Rooney told the reporters that he is impressed by Kagawa’s quick assimilation in to the club and he hopes to play with him as they resume Premier League campaign.

-Shinji's settled quite quickly. He's a talented player, he likes to get on the ball and keep it simple. He's very effective on the ball. It's great to have that sort of player in the team.

Build up

- I'm looking forward to playing with him and I think he'll create a lot of chances for me and the other forwards. It's exciting to have him in the team.

Kagawa who made his first appearance in the club’s pre-season goalless draw against Valeranga seeks to build up his match sharpness before the club open their League campaign against Everton on 20 August.
