Rangers FC could have a welcome boost on Friday 20 July when they take on a rejuvenated Mathare United side in their Kenyan Premier League (KPL) encounter as defender Tom Tass Onyango says he has recovered and will be ready.
Resume training
The defender had a concussion in his team’s 3 – 1 loss to Ulinzi Stars on Sunday 8 July and had to be rushed to hospital midway through the encounter but speaking to futaa.com, he said he has fully recovered and was supposed to resume training on Tuesday 17 July.
-I have recovered fully now and am ready for training. By the time we face Mathare United I will be ready because the game is also very important for us at the moment considering our position on the table, he admitted.
Must win
The defender also termed the Mathare United tie a must win for them, a factor he feels is achievable despite the 2008 KPL champions’ recent upsurge.
-There is no doubt in us that the game is a must win. We respect Mathare so much and they will also be coming to the game on the back of very impressive results but we will be going all out for a win in the game.
-We are improving daily and that is why we can’t let the gap between them and us widen any more, he added.
