Ramadhan Cup ongoing in Nairobi

.

The annual Ramadhan Cup is currently ongoing at two venues; RFUEA grounds off Ngong road and at the Woodley grounds.

This year’s edition will culminate with the final on the final day of Ramadhan on any day from September 1-3. 12 teams are taking part divided equally in two pools of six teams each.

According to an organizer, teams will play each other throughout the Holy month of Ramadhan that opened on August 1, 2011 in a round robin manner after which the bottom two drop off and the remaining four enter the quarters. Winners will move to the semis and eventually to the finals.

Pool A is made up of Makina Youth, Zulu, Mizuka, Salama, Darajani and Mashimoni while Pool B is made up of Makongeni, Ismailia, Lindi, Al Swafa, Veto and Labour FC.

The winner in the annual competition will walk home with a trophy provided by the organizers. No one has yet come forth to offer any form of awards.
