President’s Cup shifted, league matches to go on

The Tusker Premier League (TPL) matches scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 20 – Sunday 21 October will go on at various venues across the country as scheduled in the league fixtures.

Games to proceed

The schedule for the weekend was clouded in uncertainty after the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) moved the President’s Cup fixtures to that weekend causing a clash but in an interview with futaa.com the TPL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jack Oguda confirmed the matches will be on.

Oguda said the decision had been reached after consultations with the various stakeholders and it was resolved that the President’s Cup matches, which are at the semi final stage be scheduled for a later date.

Slotted later

-We spoke with the chairmen of clubs and the other stakeholders and resolved to let the league matches go on as scheduled in the fixtures then we will find a slot or two later on and reserve them for the cup games, he told futaa.com.

In the cup semis, Sofapaka is scheduled to meet Tusker while defending champions Gor Mahia set to face off with AFC Leopards.
