Winless in four
Sharks, who have now gone winless in their last four league matches, started brightly but slowly fizzled out as the Police side took control and the visitors were duly rewarded on 17 minutes when Kenya U20 international Patilla Omoto conceded a foul just outside the 18 yard box.
Jesse Wabala stepped forward and made no mistake, curling it in past the despairing Sharks keeper Njeka Ochieng for the opener which also guaranteed a half time lead.
Sixth place
Humphrey Alemba got the second for AP in the 66th minute and a late addition, on 86 minutes precisely, by Julius Muteti sealed the Nairobi side’s fate, effectively condemning them to sixth place on 52 points, 17 adrift of league leaders Bandari who play later in the day.
The Police side boosted their title hopes as they rose to second place after the win, with 57 points after 31 matches, 12 points behind Bandari albeit with a game in hand.
