Player of the Year missing from 2012 KPL list

Kevin Kimani

With the transfer window in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) now closed, rumors of player movements that were rife in the offseason can now be confirmed, or dispelled.

A list published and released by the top flight league managers KPL confirms most of the rumors as true.

2011 Player and Midfielder of the Year

But after releasing its list for the season recently prior to the release of the KPL list, one name that was not in Mathare United’s squad was that of Kevin Kimani, the 2011 Player and Midfielder of the Year.

Kimani who was also one of the four runners up top scorers [11 goals] had his contract at the 2008 Champions lapse at the turn of the year.

Though having been linked with a move to 2009 Champions and moneybags Sofapaka, Kimani is conspicuously missing from batoto ba mungu’s list, and not in any of the other 14 teams that will make the 2012 season.
