Having won the annual Copa Coca Cola competition twice in succession, the school administration arranged an open day to honour their players for the impressive feat.
Despite there being other interests on the day, football was always going to be played, with invites being floated to Kakamega High School who could not make it, St Andrews Eshikalame and Barding High Schools.
In the matches played on the day, Ambira saw off St Andrews Eshikalame 1-0, with Barding returning the favour 2-0. The final, between Ambira and Barding ended in the hosts favour, as they sailed to a 4-1 win.
Happy for players
Ambira coach George Owoko was happy for the players and hopes that the being recognition will spur them on to great things.
-It is good that the players have been recognized by the school for doing great things. It will motivate them to work hard and try their best come this year's competitions, he told Futaa.com.
The award ceremony was held at the Ambira high grounds in Ugenya, Siaya District.
National Youth Talent Academy head coach Bob Oyugi was in attendance, as were high ranking officials from the Football Kenya Federation Nyanza branch.
