Naivasha based Finlays Horticulture’s hope of making it to
the Kenyan Premier League in 2013 virtually ended on Saturday 27 October 2012
as the team fell 1-0 away
to Nzoia United at Sudi Stadium.
Within three points
Interestingly the lone goal that stretches Finlays winless run to two games was scored by one of their own – defender John Onyango who mistakenly directed a corner kick taken by Nzoia into his own net on seven minutes.
The slim win lifted the fourth placed Nzoia United up from 70 to 73 points and to within three points of the stalling Finlays who still remain second on the log with 76 points.
Finlays has played 35 games, one more than Nzoia and leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who are six points clear atop the 20-team league.
