Owino back in training after injury

George Owino

Former Kenyan international defender George Owino, who has had to sit out almost a year injured is back in training albeit in light workouts with his Kenyan Premier League club Sofapaka.

The burly defender did not feature in most games for his club last term as he nursed a knee injury sustained early in the season but has now started kicking the ball with an aim of resuming action soon.

Fit in a month

Speaking to futaa.com the defender said he expects to be fully fit in about a month’s time although he admitted he will need a bit more time to gain full match fitness as considering he has been out of action for so long.

Kick off too soon

-I have started training on a lighter scale after the injury. I expect to have fully recovered in about a month though the league kickoff might be too soon for me because I have to work hard for match fitness considering I have been out for so long, he said.

Owino has previously featured for the current Kenyan premier League champions Tusker and both Tanzanian giants Young Africans and Simba.
