Hapoel Beer Sheva, the Israeli side that Kenyan Patrick Osiako plays for handed Maccabi Tel Aviv their first defeat of the season, beating them 3-1 in their Monday 1 October match, played at the Vasermil Stadium.
Beersheba’s goals were netted by Siraj Nassar, Bojan Markovic and William Njovu, in the 40th, 66th and 83rd minute.
Maccabi’s only goal of the match came in the 43rd
minute, through Munas Dabbur.
It took Maccabi less than three second half minutes to equalize courtesy of Beersheba goalkeeper Austin Ejide.
Osiako started in the match and he played assist to his side’s second goal, coming off a set-piece.
At the time, Aviram Bruchian directed a short corner to Osiako, who in turn sent it into the box for Markovic to head home.
