Oserian- Stima flatter to deceive

Oserian
Oserian FC and Western Stima played to a barren draw in a Kenyan Premier League match at the Oserian Stadium in Naivasha on Saturday 11 August 2012.

Both sides would have done with victory, but will not mind a point from the entertaining match.

The game though will undoubtedly be remembered for a spate of missed opportunities, as well as a freak dissalowed goal for Stima's mark Sirengo.

Open game

The game started at a strong pace with both sides intent on laying down a marker in the game.

Stima had their moments with Job Omusse and Alloys Mangi especially,  the ones in the mix. They both had chances to score, but could not find the right finish.

Alloys Mangi was the most guilty though, as he missed a guilt edged opportunity while all alone with Oserian keeper George Ochieng.

The home side were also in the wrong, with Edmond Muria the most guilty, as he missed chance after chance in the first as well as second half.

In the second half, Edwin Misiko was the most prominent for the home side as he had the better chances on goal.

Robbed

Stima though will feel aggrieved as they were denied a clear goal on 70 minutes.

Substitute Mark Sirengo thought he had scored after converting Kevin Olouch's pass, but the centre referee Amos Ichingwa ruled it out for a foul on an Oserian player, though on close inspection, he had been fouled by his own player.

Stima players complained to Mr Ichingwa, but he refused to budge and the game remained scoreless.

The last 20 minutes were a tug of war of sorts, but no side could muster a goal. With the result, Stima move to 27 points from 21 matches while Oserian remain bottom of the table with 16 points from a similar number of games played.
