Highly-rated SoNy Sugar midfielder James Orundu played for the team as they shared spoils in a one-all draw with Tanzanian Champions Simba SC in a build up match on Sunday 2 September 2012.
Surgery
The former JMJ Academy, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka and Rangers midfielder, who joined the 9th – placed Tusker Premier League (TPL) side on a two-year contract from Rangers FC, has been on the recovery path since undergoing operation to remove his swollen kidney.
He debuted for SoNy as a second-half substitute during their one-all draw with Ulinzi FC on Thursday 2 August 2012 at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, Nairobi and has since been sparingly used in the team’s recent matches as he was not fully fit.
Orundu believes that he has now fully recovered and regained his form and hopes to feature more in SoNy’s upcoming league matches.
Recovery
-I’m now fully recovered from the injury and I have also been working very hard on my fitness and I believe I’ve regained my form, Orundu told futaa.com.
-I hope to feature in the upcoming matches and hopefully cement my place in the starting eleven, he added.
SoNy will play high-flying Gor Mahia on Sunday 9 September 2012 in their next league match.
