Western Stima Coach Henry Omino has blamed ‘over confidence’ for his team’s 2-3 defeat to Rangers, in Sunday’s (October 28) Tusker Premier League match, at Bukhungu Stadium.
Stima looked certain to win the match, after two quick goals in the first half through Kevin Oluoch and Wesley Kemboi, but threw away the lead, conceding three goals in the second-half.
Bitter loss
-It’s a big embarrassment; the boys thought that they have won the match in the first half. I advised them at the break not to be over-confident.
-Unfortunately it was the vice-versa. They allowed Rangers to come back into the game and at the end of the day conceded three goals with our defense caught napping.
-After Rangers leveled the score, our defenders couldn’t withstand the pressure and they conceded a penalty came at the wrong time. We have learnt a lesson from that experience; we will not underrate any team again, said a disappointed Omino to futaa.com.
Stima are currently placed eighth on the pile with 37 points and they are scheduled to face Tusker over the weekend before wrapping-up the campaign with a clash against Muhoroni Youth.
