Olympics squad set for afternoon touch down

Kenya’s representatives in the just concluded Special Olympics in South Africa will touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium at 1600Hrs.

This is after a rather successful outing in the Southern Africa country finishing fourth in the three days tournament dubbed the Unity Cup that ended on Saturday 6^th October 2012.

Brave fight

The Kenyans gave a brave fight managing to reach the semifinals of the inaugural tourney by thumping Mauritius 9-0.

Hosts South Africa were however managed a narrow 3-1 win over the Kenyans on penalties after a barren draw result in normal timing of the match.

South Africa advanced to win the tournament after a win over Tanzania while a wounded Kenyan lost to Ivory Coast by 4-0 in the third place playoffs on Saturday 6^th October 2012.

The team is coached by veteran youth coach Vince Ombiji.
