Kenya’s representatives in the just concluded Special Olympics in South Africa will touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium at 1600Hrs.
This is after a rather successful outing in the Southern Africa country finishing fourth in the three days tournament dubbed the Unity Cup that ended on Saturday 6th October 2012.
The Kenyans gave a brave fight managing to reach the semifinals of the inaugural tourney by thumping Mauritius 9-0.
Hosts South Africa were however managed a narrow 3-1 win over the Kenyans on penalties after a barren draw result in normal timing of the match.
South Africa advanced to win the tournament after a win over Tanzania while a wounded Kenyan lost to Ivory Coast by 4-0 in the third place playoffs on Saturday 6th October 2012.
The team is coached by veteran youth coach Vince Ombiji.
