Olum hoping to make CECAFA show

Despite having a tight schedule in the MLS with his team Sporting Kansas City, Kenyan defender Lawrence Olum is holding on to the hope that he can be available for selection in Frenchman Henri Michel’s squad for the upcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

Olum has lately registered himself as a regular for the Eastern Conference leaders and with playoffs in sight, the defender informed futaa.com that he may not be available if Sporting KC makes it to the finals.

Hopeful

-I am not sure of participating in CECAFA; we shall be starting the playoffs in three weeks time and if we make it to the finals we shall be playing on Saturday 1 December. But if we will be done, hopefully I will be available for selection, he said.

The CECAFA tournament, which will be hosted by Uganda, will kick off on Saturday 24 November.
