Okallo: League win an anti climax

Despite being crowned the 2012 FKF Girls Premier League champions on the final day of the season, Matuu FC coach Robert Okallo harboured sour grapes at the big miss by their Saturday 6 October opponents.

Disappointed

The champions were scheduled to take on Kamaliza Eaglets at the St. Paul’s grounds but the eleventh placed opponents gave the match a wide berth much to the disappointment of Okallo, who despite taking the walkover, said a win in the field would have been sweeter.

-The crowning is more of an anti climax than a sweet victory. I’d have been open to the idea of winning it after breaking sweat and not this way.

Deserved

-All the same, I think we deserved to be champions this year because we played well all season and it is all due to the players’ hard work, he told futaa.com.

MOYAS Ladies, Matuu’s closest opponents won their game against Spedag FC at Lang’ata Prison 3 – 0 to finish with 57 points, one behind the champions.
