Gor Mahia FC beat Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker FC 3-0 on Thursday 9 August 2012 to book their place in the Top 8 final scheduled to be played on Sunday 19 August.
Man of the match
Gor Mahia midfielder Moses Dube Odhiambo was named man of the match and rewarded with a DSTV Drifta after the game. The player was in impeccable form and scored the second goal with a volley from 40 yards.
-I thank first of all thank God for this and also my team mates who really played their hearts out today, Odhiambo said after receiving the drifta.
-The morale in the team is now sky high and I know we will do the same (win) in the final, he added.
The team will play against 2010 against 2010 KPL champions Ulinzi Stars in the final after the latter beat Sony Sugar 2-1 in the other second leg semi played on Thursday 8 August at the Nyayo National Stadium.
