Odari manages draw in first game

Newly appointed Oserian Ladies coach Hudson Odari managed a 3 – 3 draw on his first assignment, in his team’s Division One home game against Kakamega side Nyuki Starlets at the Oserian Stadium on Saturday 20 October.

Came from behind

Odari’s side had to come from behind to secure a point in the six goal thriller. Anne Soita opened the scores for the visitors after just two minutes but Josephine Naswa levelled matters on the half hour mark.

Four minutes later, Oserian doubled their advantage – Jacinta Winfred converted a penalty after Nyuki defender Judith Omukundi committed a foul in the box and Jackline Ashinta headed in Nyuki’s equalizer from an indirect kick taken by Mercy Afwayo after 57 minutes.

Late goal

Jacinta restored the home side’s lead in the 67th minute after a delightful dribble and a loop over the advancing Nyuki keeper, Monicah Chebet but there was still time for some late drama as Vivian Makawa headed in Jackline Ashinta’s corner for Nyuki’s third goal.

Oserian will on Sunday face off with Suba Lakers at the same venue as from 1400hrs.
