Ochong takes issue with refereeing

Chemelil

In the wake the barren draw on Monday 29 October in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) match pitting Chemelil Sugar and Muhoroni Youth at the Chemelil Sports Complex, the home team was left fuming at the referee and one of his assistants’ performance.

Undermine Chemelil Sugar

Dan Ongidi was the man at the centre in the rescheduled encounter and the Chemelil Sugar team manager Tom Ochong says the referee and his assistant Leonard Onyiego influenced the game with an ambition to undermine Chemelil Sugar.

Speaking to futaa.com, Ochong particularly lamented over two incidents he said the referee should have awarded penalties but waved on the game and he vowed to write a protest letter over the same.

Suspicious

-The result was not fair majorly because of the officials, whose performance really left a lot to be desired. We witnessed open biasness from referee Ongidi and his assistant Onyiego and we are not pleased at all. It was all suspicious; most of his calls were dubious and he even denied us two clear penalties.

-We didn’t expect any favours from the two, all we wanted was fair play but we got the exact opposite. The duo’s performance was generally bad and for our displeasure we will write a protest letter to the relevant authorities. This should stop, he said.
