Nzoia sharp shooter firmly in Golden boot race

Valen Semi Mahero

On Saturday 22 September 2012, Nzoia United surprised host Timsales 1-3 in Elburgon.

In that game, Nzoia United striker Valen Semi Mahero hit a brace, his first goal in the 20th minute and the second in the 75th minute.

Yet to reflect

The two goals sent Mahero’s personal goal haul to 22 goals to pull away atop the 20-team Division One Zone B scorers board.

With 22 goals, Mahero is within a goal of Division One Zone A’s reliable scorer Roosevelt Blaty of Admiral who has a total of 23 goals.

Blaty, a former Opera player, should be on 24 goals as he scored a single goal in a Saturday game between Admiral and Sparki Youth. That game was however abandoned two minutes. With the fate of the game yet to be known, his 24th goal is yet to reflect on his total.

John Mwita

Mahero has a goal on Michael Khamati of Administration Police of Zone A who is third with 21 goals.

With 17 goals, Benlee Juma of Finlays Horticulture (Zone B) comes in fourth ahead of Oliver Omondi of Soin Flourspar and Sebastian Muchera of Nakuru AllStars who are both on 15 goals.

Congo JMJ United’s Timothy Otieno and John Mwita of Agro Chemicals both have 14 goals.

Kenneth Rono

Dennis Mukaisi of Kakamega Homeboyz and Stephen Wakhanya of West Kenya Sugar are next in the list with 13 goals, and one ahead of Kennedy Mathiko of Utwala who has ten goals.

Vincent Okoth (Ligi Ndogo) and Brian Mandela of Nakuru AllStars both have 11 goals while Hesbon Onchiri (West Kenya Sugar), Kenneth Rono (Soin Fluorspar) and Vincent Juma of Nzoia United, all with ten goals, close the list of scorers with double digits.
