The Nyayo National Stadium is currently undergoing renovation and will be unavailable for three weeks.
Confirming the news to futaa.com, Sports Stadia Management Board PRO Rakki Manasseh Asman, said the playing surface had been overused hence the renovation.
Surface
-We have been working on the surface from last week. It has been overused over time by games and other activity such as marching like recently during the Mashujaa Day, Rakki told futaa.com.
-We are now patching grass especially around the goals area so as to allow the surface to recover. The earliest the grounds can be used for a game is on the weekend of 24 November, he added.
This means the FKF President’s Cup final match that was scheduled to be played at the venue on Wednesday 21 November 2012 will now be shifted to a different venue.
