Nyamweya calls for more sponsors

As the Kenyan national team Harambee Stars prepares to host their South Africa's Bafana Bafana, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has called on more sponsors to come on board to support the team.

The federation’s Chairman Sam Nyamweya, urging more sponsors to step in, revealed that the budget of hosting the 1996 African Champions for the friendly match on Tuesday 16 October run into tens of millions.

More sponsors

-Organising such events is normally very expensive. This upcoming friendly match alone will cost the federation more than ten million shillings so it is our appeal that more sponsors come on board to help us build a strong national team, he said at a press conference at the Boulevard Hotel on Thursday 11 October.

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) is the main sponsor of the Kenyan national team with a package of Kshs 110 million spread over three years.
