Malawi’s first choice custodian Simplex Nthala will miss Saturday’s (October 13) crucial 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana due to injury.
The Mozambique-based keeper, who picked-up an injury during training, featured in the first leg as the Flames suffered a 2-0 defeat in Accra.
Raring to go
Despite Nthala’s absence, Coach Kinnah Phiri is confident of upsetting the Black Stars.
-My main Injury problem is my first choice keeper Simplex Nthala who will miss the return match, Phiri was quoted by mtnfootbal.com.
-But the rest of the players are raring to go and am optimistic we will collect all the three points as that is also the belief of thousands of our fans in Malawi.
-We are well prepared and only waiting for Saturday where the wheat will be separated from the chuff and as you know my players play as a unit unlike Ghana who depend on individual players, he added.
The winner on aggregate will qualify for the continental finals to be held in South Africa.
