Despite developing complications that have since ruled him out of the Tuesday 16 October friendly match with South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Kenya and IF Fram midfielder Christian Bwamy has not given up hope of featuring for Harambee Stars this year.
Hopeful
The midfielder was among the foreign based players named to feature in the friendly match, which will be Frenchman Henri Michel’s first in charge but immigration issues meant he couldn't leave Europe in time for the game though he is hopeful on the upcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge.
The Norwegian league in which he plays is soon drawing to a close and he will thereafter be in Kenya and, speaking to futaa.com, the midfielder said he will be available for selection as he looks forward to a long stay in the Kenyan national team.
Available in November
-Our season is drawing to a close; we only have two games left to the end of the season and I should be home by November. Once there, I will be available and ready to train with the National team for CECAFA tournament.
-I want to be part of the National team – It is a dream for any player to feature for their national team and I am not different. I want to prove to the coach that I can be part of his future plans, he said.
The annual regional tournament will kick off on Saturday 24 November and run until Saturday 8 December in Kampala, Uganda.
