A Coastal derby between Division One sides Bandari and Coast
United must be played as scheduled – insists Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Does not fall under our provision
FKF South Coast Branch had requested for a call off for the tie planned for Sunday 12 August as Coast United is heavily represented in KECOSO (Kenya Communications Sports Organisation) games currently ongoing at Nakuru.
Zone A fixture Secretary Ronny Oyando has however turned down the request, with good reason;
-Be well advised, as per article 76 of the constitution and also as per the rules governing this league, the match can’t be postponed for the reason stated since the tournament does not fall under our provision, you are therefore advised the match is on as per the fixtures thus your request has been rejected, said a communique
FKF South Coast Branch had requested the match to be postponed because eight of Coast United players are turning up for Kenya Ferry Service FC in the 2012 KECOSO ball games.
The players are Athman Kibwana, Ali Khamisi, Ali Karega, James Mayoyo, Ali Juma Shambi, Mohammed Suleiman, Suleiman Mwasiri and Abdalla Juma.
Coast United is scheduled to play Bandari on Sunday at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club from 1500hrs.
