The Eagles gave an idea of what was in store for the Liberians when Efe Ambrose scored the first goal within two minutes of the game kicking off with a firm header off a corner kick.
The first half ended 2-0 in favour of the Eagles after Ahmed Musa added a second with the half winding down.
The second half started the way the first half did with another quick goal, this time it was new father, Victor Moses who ran free to slam the ball in with the few Liberians in the crowd looking stunned. Moses will score a sixth with four minuted left when he punished the slack defence of Liberia with a header off a Mikel Obi cross.
Mikel Obi himself had been on the score sheet when he planted a penalty in the net after the keeper had brought down Nosa Igiebor.
Ikechukwu Uche came off the bench to make it five, and continue his record of scoring goals for the Eagles.
