Newly appointed Harambee Stars Team Manager Joel Birgen has said that he will do his best to lift the national side's standards during his tenure.
The Ulinzi Stars Team Manager is set to be apponted the new Stars manager by the Football Kenya Federation after performing well in his role at the soldiers.
He takes over from Edward Oduor who resigned late 2011 and says that he has high hopes for the national team.
- I am very proud to be a part of the national team.
- At the same time, I have to thank my employers for allowing me to take up this position.
- It is an honour to be here and I will do my best to lift the national team.
- Hopefully, you will all see changes during my time there, he told Futaa.com.
Birgen has enjoyed success with Ulinzi, winning the Kenyan Premier League title, as well as The KPL Top 8.
